Refunds and Privacy



If you purchased an individual slot in a scheduled class, you must contact us at least 48 hours prior to the class start time to receive a refund. There is NO REFUND if you reserved space in a class within the 48 hours prior to its start time.


In order to cancel your indoor group event you must contact us at least 7 days prior to the event date to receive a refund. There is NO REFUND if you reserve a group event or party within 7 days of its delivery date.


If the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory or worse (winter storm warning or snow advisory) for the time of a class or group within our operating area (Lynchburg, VA), we will allow a reschedule. We will not allow any cancellations under this policy, only reschedules given that the proper weather advisory has been issued. If no such advisory has been issued we will proceed with the class or group and expect the participants to arrive as usual. Weather advisories can be checked here.


Climbing gear sold at Rise Up is broken into two categories:

Shoes and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Shoes can be returned within 1 week of purchase with original packaging and must not show any visible signs of wear. (new condition – and no toe/rubber wear)

PPE cannot be returned once it leaves the Rise Up facility or is used more than several (1-3) times within the facility.

PPE includes: Harnesses, ropes, carabiners, helmets, quickdraws, slings, and other specific climbing safety equipment.


a) If the following occurs within 48 hours to a scheduled trip – a reschedule will be allowed, no refund will be given.

-If the weather in anticipated to be under 40 degrees, or over 95 degrees during the time the group will be out to climb we will cancel the trip and a reschedule will be allowed.
-If the weather is anticipated to be “poor” (extremely windy, rainy, foggy, etc.) – Rise Up Climbing Lead Outdoor Instructor has the final call on cancelling a trip and a reschedule will be allowed. All efforts will be made to host the trip.
-Our Outdoor Program relies on an AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor who must attend every outdoor climbing trip. If this individual is unable to lead the trip due to injury or illness – the trip will be postponed and a reschedule will be allowed. All efforts will be made to host the trip.

b) If the following occurs within 48 hours to a schedule trip or during our trip – there will be no refund (no exceptions)

-Participant no longer wishes to attend the trip

-Participant does not enjoy outdoor climbing experience and elects not to participate (for whatever reason)

-Participant is injured or too ill to participate

-Weather turns “poor” – rains, fog, wind, etc. – that will halt  climbing activities as decided by Rise Up Climbing Lead Outdoor Instructor


All prepaid membership sales are final. We cannot refund time (days, months, years) that were not used. If you’d like to freeze a year membership you can – but you will need to speak to a Manager. Email


If you are unsure if you are physically fit enough to participate - please consult your doctor before engaging in strenuous physical activity that involves inherent risk such as rock climbing.

Credit card information submitted with your order is used only for payment processing and is not retained on our Site.


Except as disclosed in this Privacy Statement, we do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise retransmit any Personally Identifiable Information we collect online unless we have your permission. Any Personally Identifiable Information you provide to us will be used for your purchases and retained within our database system, which generates our invoices.

From time to time, we may be required to provide Personally Identifiable Information in response to court order, subpoena, or government investigation. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful. We may release Personally Identifiable Information when we believe that such release is reasonably necessary to enforce or apply our Limited Warranty or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others and ourselves.
