Fastrack

Historically climbers learned movement and technique by one of several methods. They learned by trial and error, which left much to be desired. Climbing movement is not all intuitive. They learned by watching and “apprenticing” to more experiencing climbers, but this was also less than optimal. How had their mentors learned? There were no guarantees that those more experienced climbers were climbing effectively and efficiently.

Fastrack eliminates these uncertainties.

Designed and implemented by Dan Hague, one of our founders and the co-author of climbing’s definitive movement and technique text—and based on theories of kinesiology—Fastrack will teach you the right way to do things right off the bat. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for the reasons why you can’t break through your barriers, this series of classes is for you.

Fastrack 1

Beginners Technique and Movement

Covers:

Basic Climbing Concepts and Vocabulary, Hold Names and How to Use them Properly, Wall Contact, Body Movement and Awareness, Sequencing, Turning

$40/members, $80/non-members

Fastrack 2

Advanced Technique and Movement

Learn advanced skills with a Rise Up Climbing Instructor! This movement and technique class will help you send your projects and gain entry into the exciting world of steep overhung climbing!

Covers:
-Flagging
-Advanced Climbing Maneuvers
-Dynamic Movement
-COG to BOS Relationship
-Advanced Sequencing
-Recaps Topics in FT 1

Pre-Requisites:
-6 months climbing experience and/or Fastrack 1
-Ability to climb V1 reccomended

$60/members, $120/non-members

Fastrack 3

Route Fitness

1.5 hour fitness class to kick your butt into route shape! Let a Rise Up Instructor run you through a series of climbing specific workouts that will build stamina, aerobic endurance, and power endurance for the upcoming route season!


No experience necessary!

Covers:
-Overview of how energy is used in the body when roped climbing
-Designing a fitness plan
-Sticking to a fitness plan
-Different route workouts - and how to use them effectively

$30/members, $60/non-members

Fastrack 4

Bouldering Fitness

1.5 hour fitness class to kick your butt into bouldering shape! Let a Rise Up Instructor run you through a series of climbing specific workouts that will build bouldering stamina, power, and strength for the upcoming bouldering season!
No experience necessary!

Fastrack 5

Indoor Lead Class

Sport climbing is leading!

Learn how to properly clip anchors, belay for a leader, and minimize the added risks involved with lead falls.


Pre-Requisites:
*You must be 14 years old and up to take this class, and be able to comfortably climb 5.9 within Rise Up Climbing facility

$60/members, $120/non members
